Zarita J. “Mama Rita” Severson Villarreal, 56, of East Peoria, died Monday, February 1, 2016, early Monday morning at her home in East Peoria.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm.
Cremation rites will follow the services. Memorials may be made to the family.
Rita was born September 23, 1959 in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of Carol J. Severson.
She married Bernardo Villarreal on January 19, 1983 in Streator, IL. He survives in East Peoria. Also surviving are her children, Jason D. (Michelle Behm) Villarreal, Bernardo C. (Laken) Villarreal and Bryan (Olivia) Villarreal, all of East Peoria; five grandchildren,
Bryan, Allyssia, Naveah, Tatiana and Vincent; four sisters, Shona (Tom) Murphy of Ottawa, Elizabeth Cole of Harding, Marsha (Kent) Butterfield of Ottawa, and Shari Lanmon of McGregor, TX; two sister-in-law’s, Janie (Bob) Behrens, Hilda (Ricardo) Tamez both of Streator; a brother-in-law, Bernie (Paula) Villarreal, of Ottawa; her God Daughter, Stefanie Villarreal; and many nieces nephews and extended family.
Her mother, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Andres and Paulina Villarreal and a brother-in-law, Andy Villarreal Jr., preceded her in death.
Rita was a Certified Nurse’s Aid and a home health care worker. She will be remembered for being a “Professional Bingo Player”.
