William Cox

STREATOR-  William Cox 76 of Ottawa formerly of Streator died Saturday morning (Oct. 11, 2014) at the Ottawa Pavilion.
Private family funeral services will be held at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Lon Alderman, officiating. Burial with full military rites conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mr. Cox was born Apr. 1, 1938 in Pontiac, the son of William and Dorothy (Zebell) Cox.
Bill had been employed as an oil rig worker and carpenter. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War and had attended Streator schools.
He is survived by children, Gary, Dean, Debbie, Darla and Tonya, four sisters, Delores (Lee) Russow, Flanagan, Janice (Henry) Herman, Streator, Carol Lock, Lostant and Diana (John) Pomeranke, Streator, three brothers, Thomas (Joan) Cox, Geneseo, Terry (Lois) Cox, LaSalle and Gregory Meredith, Bloomington, step sisters, Lana Meredith, Bloomington and Eurita Stonier, Naples FL, step brothers, Guy (Sue) Meredith, Lancaster PA, Jerry Meredith, Streator, James (Joan) Meredith, Libertyville and Robert Meredith, Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Virginia Logston and one brother, Jackie Meredith.
Pallbearers will be family members.
