STREATOR-  Warren N. Milam 91 of Streator died Thursday morning (May 23, 2013) at Heritage Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Roger Hurlbut, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial with full military rites conducted by member of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Ottawa.
Mr. Milam was born July 12, 1921 in Ottawa the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Milam. He married Gertrude Jossendal Sept. 3, 1943 in Sioux Falls SD. She survives.
Warren had been employed at Libbey-Owens Ford Glass Co, Ottawa for many years and also was a salesman for Prudential Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and American Legion Post # 217, both of Streator and the Sons of Norway.
He attended Ottawa grade schools and was a graduate of Ottawa High School, class of 1939. He was an avid sports fan and was active in Little League sports in Ottawa and a big booster of Streator High School sports. Warren was a veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific in the US Army Air Corps and had received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze battle stars.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, two sons, Robert (Cam) Milam, Wheaton and David Milam, Bloomington, two grandchildren, Cindy (David) Bettini, Wheaton and Jeffrey (Hollie) Milam, Florissant MO along with four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Milam, one sister, Pauline Fuller, brothers Lloyd Milam and a brother in infancy.
Memorials may be made to American Legion Post # 217, Streator.
