Virgil McGinnis

Virgil M. McGinnis, 84, of Streator passed away at 11:38 PM Sunday (December 29, 2019) at his residence with his wife and their good friend Darlene Whalen by his side.

A visitation will be held from 3-7 PM Thursday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home and also from Noon until 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.  The Rev. Bing Barks will officiate.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

He was born on November 9, 1935 in Dewitt, Michigan to Christopher & Cecile (Barnes) McGinnis.  He married the former Betty L. Yedinak on March 4, 1994.  She survives.

He is also survived by his children:  Chris (Cindy) McGinnis, Cathy (Jim) Wilcox, Cindy (Tim) Higbee, Craig McGinnis and Connie McGinnis all of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a sister, Glee (the late Joe) Rooney of Chervely, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 great granddaughters and a sister, Dawn Leitske.

He was a farmer in Dewitt, Michigan until retirement.
