STREATOR-  Vincent N.“Vince” Reihl 85 of Streator died Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 11, 2014) at Heritage Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Jacob Rose, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial with full military rites conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492, will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
Mr. Reihl was born March 13, 1929 in Streator the son of Francis and Martha (Plain) Reihl Sr. He married Ann Marie Pope January 8, 1949 at St. Stephen’s Church by Father John Kozel. She survives.
Vince had been employed by Commonwealth Edison Co. thirty eight years, retiring in 1989. He was the co-owner of the former B&R Tree Service. He was a member the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, American Legion Post # 217, Ducks Unlimited, Lazy Acres, Sandy Ford Sportsman Club, Pontiac Sportsman Club, Marshall County Sportsman Club, Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Vince served in the US Navy from 1946-1948. He attended St. Anthony’s Grade School and was a graduate of Streator High School, following his tour of duty with the Navy.
He is survived by his wife Ann Marie, family supporters, Karen, Kathy and Tom, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Magdalen Maubach and Mary Margaret Reihl, and three brothers, George, Harold Sr. and Francis Jr. Reihl.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
