Tia Petersen

STREATOR-  Tia Lynn Petersen 54 of Streator died Sunday morning (June 9, 2013) at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday (June 26, 2013) at Hagi Funeral Home with a Service of Remembrance at 6:00 PM with Rev. Greg Oppenhuis, officiating. Private family burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Tia Lynn was born Dec. 18, 1958 in Streator the daughter of Frank and Florence (Quaka) Petersen. She married Donald Wakeman.
She had been employed at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator, Dwight Correctional Center, Borg-Warner, Ottawa, Panduit, DeKalb, and PetSmart Distribution, Ottawa. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1977. She was a member of the Illinois Valley Brain Injury Group.
She is survived by one daughter, Brandi (Jason) Sterling, Streator, two grandsons, Trevor and Landon Sterling and another grandson due in August, one sister, Peg (Rev.Greg) Oppenhuis, Murphy TX and one brother, Dan (Patricia) Petersen, rural Streator, three nieces, one nephew and caregiver Nancy McCoy.
She was preceded in deathby her parents and a sister and brother in infancy.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
