Thomas Crawford

STREATOR-  Thomas E. Crawford 69 of Streator died Monday morning (Feb. 4, 2013) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Curtis Starner, officiating. Visitation will be held  from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM Friday at Hagi Funeral Home.
Mr. Crawford was born Mar. 4, 1943 in Streator the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Cox) Crawford. He married Carol Canale, Feb. 13, 1968 in Ottawa. She survives.
Tom had been a welder in the maintenance department at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. Streator, where he had been employed for 43 years, retiring in 2004. He was a former member of Central Church of Christ and was a member of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 all of Streator. He attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1961. Tom was a veteran serving in the US Army.
Our Dad was a great husband and father and there for all of us whenever we needed him. He and his good friend Larry were the “go to guys” for all of our maintenance needs. Whenever we needed something fixed we called our Dad. Our Dad enjoyed taking our Mom on shopping trips for the day and then going out to eat. He enjoyed keeping plenty of snacks and treats on hand for all the grandchildren. We love you Dad and you will be greatly missed by all of us.
He is survived by his wife Carol, two daughters, Carrie (Ron) Harcar, Jennifer (Tony) Kestner, one son, Thomas Joseph “TJ” Crawford, all of Streator, eight grandchildren, one sister Joanne (John) Beavers, Streator, two brothers, Gene (Carol) Crawford, Streator and Gary (Barb) Crawford, Libertyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
