Ruth Widman

RANSOM-  Ruth E. Widman 84 of rural Ransom died Sunday morning (August 9, 2015) at Pleasant View Luther Home, Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Ransom United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Haley, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator and from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom.
Mrs. Widman was born January 12, 1931 in Marseilles the daughter of Harold and Alvaretta        (White) Miller. She married Robert Widman Sr. November 26, 1950 in Marseilles. He survives.
Ruth had been employed at Libbey-Owens-Ford, Ottawa and she and her husband farmed in rural Ransom. She was an active member of the Ransom United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband Bob, one daughter, Renee (Rev. Kenneth) Harris, Cuba IL, one son, Ronald (Cathy) Widman, rural Ransom, one grandson, Danny Widman, rural Ransom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Robert Widman Jr. and a brother in infancy.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ransom United Methodist Church, the Grand Ridge Fire Department or to Marquette Academy, Ottawa.
