Ruth Vissering

STREATOR-  Ruth Ann Vissering 75 of Leesburg Florida, formerly of Streator died Thursday (Nov. 22, 2012) in Leesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Streator with Rev. John Gutz, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Streator. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Vissering was born Feb. 11, 1937 in Streator the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Klima) Drapp. She married Merle Vissering Jan. 29, 1953 in Streator. He survives.
Ruth was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and was involved in many activities with the church. She was also a member of the Streator Country Club and enjoyed golfing and traveling to Aurora Colorado in the summer months, one her hobbies was making needlework. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1955.
She is survived by her husband of fifty eight years, Merle, one daughter, Cathleen (Tim) Flowers, Apopka FL, two sons, Greg (Joan) Vissering, Carrollton GA and Mark Vissering, Denver CO, three grandchildren, Eric and Sara Flowers and Helen Vissering and two step grandchildren, Tanner and Carly Weisgerber.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Drapp.
Pallbearers will be, sons, Greg and Mark Vissering, son-in-law, Tim Flowers, grandson, Eric Flowers and nephews, Darin and Kirk Drapp.
