Ruby Jean Geheber, 81 of Streator, went to join her husband, Saturday, March 31, 2024 at the Arc of Streator, surrounded by her family.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Moose Lodge in Streator. A private family burial of ashes will be held Saturday in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom. Cremation rites have been accorded. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arc at Streator.
Ruby was born January 30, 1943 in Broseley, Missouri, a daughter of Noah and Bessie (Capps) Minks. She married Roger P. Geheber on August 27, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2024.
Surviving is a daughter, Tina (Harold Jr.) Nutter of Spring Valley; 5 grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Ostby, Holly (Seth) Heilman, Zach (Bree) Nutter, Gage Nutter, and Dash Nutter; and 6 great grandchildren with one on the way. Also surviving are siblings, Pat (Jim) Lewis of St. Louis and Clarence (Melba) Minks of Horn Lake, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; a sister, Maxine Russom; and a nephew, Clarence Russom Jr..
Ruby worked and retired from Snap-on Tools. She was known for great story telling. She enjoyed crocheting and making jewelry.
Ruby and Roger enjoyed traveling on their BMW motorcycles and attending different Rallies. In her younger years, Ruby was a professional Square Dancer and Clog Dancer. She had won several competitions Square Dancing and Clogging.
Most of all, Ruby enjoyed time with her friends and family. The greatest loves of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
