STREATOR- Rosemary Shackley 83 of Streator died Thursday morning (Dec. 11, 2014) at Liberty Village, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Monday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mrs. Shackley was born Mar. 1, 1931 in Lexington, the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Dwyer) Killian. She married Howard Dale “Pete” Shackley, Aug. 31, 1957 in Streator. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1994.
Rosemary had been employed by the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles for fifteen years, retiring in 1993. She had also served as a Bruce Township Trustee for over 30 years. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. She was a graduate of St. Anthony’s Grade School and Streator High School, class of 1949.
Rosemary loved cooking (best sugar cookies ever) as well as traveling and her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Craig) Kreutzer, Naperville, Mary Ann (Matthew) Dauzvardiz, Manhattan, Thomas (Julie) Shackley, Bloomington and Timothy (Lisa) Shackley, Minooka, twelve grandchildren, Kelly, Michael, Katherine and Elizabeth Kreutzer, Alex (Hanna) Sarris, Maura and Ryan Dauzvardis, Kevin, Jack, Maggie, Matthew and Anna Shackley, one sister, Eleanor (Larry) Corrigan, Naples FL and one brother, Richard “Dick” (Ella) Killian, of Streator, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Donald and Maurice Killian.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
