Streator

Roger Payne Geheber, 81 of Streator passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Arc of Streator surrounded by his family.

         

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Moose Lodge in Streator.  A private family burial of ashes will be held Saturday in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arc at Streator.

 

Roger was born February 8, 1943 in Streator, a son of Oscar “Bill” and Joyce Eileen (Payne) Geheber.  He married Ruby Jean Minks on August 27, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Streator; a daughter, Tina (Harold Jr.) Nutter of Spring Valley; 5 grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Ostby, Holly (Seth) Heilman, Zach (Bree) Nutter, Gage Nutter, and Dash Nutter; and 6 great grandchildren with one on the way.  Also surviving are two brothers, Phillip (Pat) Geheber of St. Charles, MO, and James Geheber of Streator; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews, Linda (Scott) Martin, Carol (Donnie) Stone, Aaron Geheber, and Jason Geheber.

 

Roger worked and retired from Snap-on Tools.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling to Canada on fishing trips.  Most of all he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

 

Roger and Ruby enjoyed traveling on their BMW motorcycles and attending different Rallies. 

In his younger years, Roger was an avid athlete, and raced go-carts and motorcycles.
