Robert Yedinak Sr.

Robert A. Yedinak Sr., 84, of Bradford and formerly of Streator passed away at 6:46 PM Thursday (April 13, 2017) at Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

A visitation will be held from 11 AM – 12:30 PM Wednesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church.  Monsignor George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus 4th Degree members will serve as an honor guard.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

He was born August 5, 1932 in Streator to Andrew & Margaret (Seaman) Yedinak.  He married the former Doris K. Sullivan in October of 1952 in Wenona.  She preceded him in death on July 11, 2011.

He is survived by two sons:  Robert (Julie) Yedinak of Wyoming and Ray (Colleen) Yedinak of Denver, CO; 5 grandchildren:  Rebecca, Randy, Andrew, Mallory and Emily Yedinak; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Marlene (Wade) Dawson of Nashville, TN and a brother, Ralph (Rita) Yedinak of Huntington Beach, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Roger Yedinak.

He graduated from Streator High School and then served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Robert retired from the City of Streator Street Department.  He also had owned and operated Bob & Rays Music Store in Streator.  He was also a member of the Riversiders Band.

He formerly was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and now a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.  He was a 4th Degree member of Monsignor George A. Dzuryo Council #790 and a life member of Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and a member of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217.
