Robert G. Teach 78 of Streator died Friday evening (Feb. 4, 2011) at the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with his daughter Rev. Mary Jane Reed and Pastor Michael Jones, Chaplin of the Good Samaritan Home, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Tuesday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Spring Valley . Full military rites conducted by member of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 at the funeral home following funeral services.
Mr. Teach was born May 20, 1932 in Sterling , the son of Floyd and Helen (Snavely) Teach. He married Grace Tyrer, Aug. 8, 1959 in DePue, she survives.
Bob had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and retired from Plymouth Tube, both of Streator. He was a member of Park Presbyterian Church, a fifty year member of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army in Korea and Japan . He attended Sterling and Streator grade schools and Streator High School .
He is survived by his wife Grace of Streator, two daughters, Rev. Mary Jane (David) Reed, Weaver Alabama and Kathryn Ann (Tim) Myers, Peru, five grandchildren, Nichole, Andrew, Tyler and James Reed and Katelyn Myers, one sister Marlene Scott, Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
