Richard "Rick" Higbie Jr.

Richard "Rick" Higbie Jr., 68, of Pontiac, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at his home.

Rick Higbie was born July 30, 1957 to Richard and Dayle Higbie.

Rick spent years battling diabetes related illnesses. 

 He spent many years living in the Pontiac and Long Point area.  Rick also resided in California during the 80’s and Florida in the 90’s.

Rick was a United States Military Veteran, having served in both the Army and the Marine Corp. Upon leaving the military he chose a career in truck driving, doing long haul routes and later, more local routes. 

He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to football and NASCAR racing.

Rick is survived by his wife, Carole Higbie; daughters, Heidi (Andy) Larsen, Rachael Smith; brothers, Dale (Cindi) Higbie, Randy (Cheryl) Higbie, and Scott Higbie; sister, Alicia (Nick) Hall; stepsons, Philip Walk and Stanley Duda; numerous nieces, nephews and several grandchildren. 

Rick was preceded in death by his father Richard Higbie Sr; his mother, Dayle (Higbie) Faxon; and his previous wife Tami Higbie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2026 from 1:00P.M. to 5:00P.M. at the Flanagan American Legion.
