Porfiria Hernandez

Porfiria Hernandez 90 of Streator died Thursday morning (Jan. 5, 2012) at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church , Streator with Rev. Dustin Schultz, officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with the rosary recited at 6:00 PM Sunday. Burial will be in Durango, Mexico.
Mrs. Hernandez was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Durango Mexico the daughter of Gregorio and Santos (Torres) Barreras .She married Anacleto Hernandez May 15, 1937 in Durango, Mexico . He preceded her in death Mar. 7, 2003.
Porfiria was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church , Streator and the Secular Franciscan Order.
She is survived by daughters, Agueda (Rafael) Hernandez, Durango Mexico, Clara (Mick) Zavada and Violeta Hernandez, both of Streator, sons, Carlos (Maria Elena) Hernandez, Durango Mexico, Jose L. (Maria) Hernandez and Manuel (Dee) Hernandez, both of Streator and Rene (Sandra) Hernandez, Lansing Kansas, twenty eight grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Herminia Hernandez, five sons, Crecencio, Martin, Gabriel, Felix and Joel Hernandez and seven brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Othon, Gabriel, Jorge and Francisco Hernandez, Brian Zavada and Juan Rodriguez.
Memorials may be made to Masses in her name.
