Pedro Lopez

STREATOR-  Pedro O. Lopez 63 of Streator died Sunday (August 23, 2015) peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Father Jacob Rose, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited in Spanish at 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mr. Lopez was born August 19, 1952 in Rincon de Esmeraldas, Mexico the son of Inocencio and Marcelina (Olascoaga) Lopez. He married Barbara Rodrick Dec. 4, 1980 in Ottawa. She Survives
Pedro was employed for the past 30 years as a sheet metal fabricator at Vactor Manufacturing, Streator. Pedro was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Eagles Lodge. He attended schools in Mexico and also attended Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby. Pedro was a fantastic cook and loved to share his food with family, friends, and co-workers.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, three daughters, Maria (Hector) Macias, Lake Geneva WI, Erica (Michael) Darling, Ottawa, Cecilia (Daniel) Selvidge, Streator, three sons, Scott (Racheal) Flavel, Fayetteville NC, Brian (Shannon) Lopez, Ottawa and James (Amy) Lopez, Pueblo West, CO, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, three sisters, Agustina (Tacho) Arci, Mexico, Obdulia (Guadelupe) Rocha, Glen Ellyn and Ofelia (Jose) Salinas, Galax VA, five brothers, Loreto Lopez, Mexico, Solomon (Guadelupe) Lopez, Mexico, Aldegundo (Teresa) Lopez, Chicago, Martin (Lupita) Lopez, Galax VA and Leopoldo Lopez, Mexico.
Pallbearers will be Scott and Jacob Flavel, Brian and James Lopez, Andrew Darling and Hector Macias. Honorary Pallbearers will be Francisco Vazquez and Guadelupe Rocha.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
