Pauline M. “Polly” Bodziuch 98 of Streator died Tuesday evening (Aug. 23, 2011) in Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Halfacre, officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00-9:30 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home with the rosary recited at 7:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Mrs. Bodzuich was born Aug. 7, 1913 in Streator the daughter of John and Anna (Rzadkosz) Marek. She married Edward Bodziuch in a military ceremony May 6, 1945 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Harvey IL. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1985. Pauline had been employed at International Harvester Co. in the Chicago area prior to WWII and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Casimir’s Church, Streator, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, a volunteer at the Polish National Alliance club and a member of the One and Only Club. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic grade school, Harvey . She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann (Alex) Rudock, Roselle, Patricia (Vernon) Kessler, Titusville FL, two sons, Edward (Miladys) Bodziuch, Alaska and Fred Bodziuch, Streator, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Dolan, Harvey IL and Rose Baikauskas, S. Holland IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and four sisters, Caroline Petryniak, Bernice Costanza, Mary Liss and Ann Marek, three brothers, John, Joe and Lewis Marek. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. |
