STREATOR- Nancy A. Hagerty 80 of Streator died Wednesday afternoon (June 27, 2012) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Esterline, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday and from 10:00-11:00AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lostlands Cemetery, Eagle Township.
Mrs. Hagerty was born May 15, 1932 in Streator, the daughter of Solomon “Sol” and Wilma (Moore) Stevens. She married James “Jim” Hagerty Jr. Jan. 24, 1959 at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Eagle Township. He preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1986.
Nancy and her husband farmed in Eagle Township and she had been employed as the head bookkeeper at Union National Bank before becoming a homemaker and mother after her marriage. She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church and Elks Lodge # 591, both of Streator. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1950 and then attended Gallagher Business School, Kankakee. After Jim’s passing, Nancy moved to a home in Liberty Village.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Meisel, Carmel IN and Carolyn (Conrad) Piccirillo, Zionsville IN, one son, Timothy (Amy) Hagerty, Mequon WI, four grandchildren, Caitlyn and Claire Piccirillo and Megan and Lauren Hagerty and dear friend and companion, Joe Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, James Stevens.
Pallbearers will be Tom and Adam Conness, Ed Comisky, Joe and Harry Marshall and Conrad Piccirillo. Honorary pallbearer will be Willard Savage.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Park Presbyterian Church or St. Mary’s Hospital.
