Mollye Sue Trainor

Mollye Sue Trainor, 70 of Streator passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026 at her home.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator is assisting the family.

Mollye Sue was born on January 7, 1956 in Streator, a daughter of James and Bonnie (Gwaltney) Stinar. She married Ron Trainor on October 20, 1973 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Streator.

She is survived by her husband, Ron of Streator; a daughter, Christina (Shane) Sunken of Magnolia; a son, Brian (Amber) Trainor of Marseilles; 8 grandchildren, Zachary (Darrah), Adam, Travis, Carson, Hailey, Carley, Lilly and Zoey; and Rita Roman, mother of Adam and Carson. Also surviving are her siblings, Dee (Manuel) Hernandez of Streator, Jim (Sherry) Stinar of Flanagan, and Larry (Darcey) Stinar of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Richard William Stinar.

Mollye Sue was of the catholic faith.

She was a member of the Streator Moose Lodge and Elks Club. She had worked at Thachers and later went to work in the medical field, starting with Doctors Slutsky & Frye, and eventually working for several doctors at the HSHS medical building. She ended her career with OSF and Dr. Wargo’s office.

Mollye Sue loved working in her yard. She was very particular about the way “Her”grass was cut and would get upset when others would not cut it the way it was supposed to be cut.
