Michael D. “Bubba” “Dumplin” Schubbe, 64, of Streator passed away at 1:00 PM Thursday (April 26, 2018) near Utica, Illinois.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Wednesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 4 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Rodney Kreier will officiate.
He was born on December 1, 1953 in Elgin, IL to Leonard Bernard & Lucille Melrose (Groth) Schubbe. He married the former Sara Lidecka on June 14, 1975 at the Union Congregational church in North Aurora. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2006.
He is survived by daughters: Heather (Aaron) Mosolf of Fargo, N.D., Elizabeth (Matt) Nordstrom of LeRoy and Martha (Chris) Smetanko of LeRoy; 2 sons: Timothy Schubbe of Streator and Andrew (Eileen) Schubbe of Streator; his parents of Richmond, KY; 15 grandchildren; 1 brother, Roger (Jane) Schubbe of Somonauk; a sister, Roxanne (Mike) Wolfe of Richmond KY; several nieces and nephews and his father-in-law: Raymond Lidecka of North Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin.
He retired from Haltermans Photography in Ottawa.
He belonged to the Barber Green Fishing & Hunting Club and was a former bowler.
He loved NASCAR, fishing and mostly his grandkids. He was a Dukes of Hazzard fan and liked eagles and wolfes. He loved all Chicago Sports teams except the White Sox.
He had a fascination of posting recipes on social media.
Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
