Michael E. Novotney

Michael Eugene Novotney, 68 of Streator passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Michael was born January 30, 1955 in Streator, a son of Eugene and Dolores (Noon) Novotney.  He married Eunice Ramrattan on Nov. 26, 1977.  She preceded him in death on May 15, 2002.

He is survived by two daughters, Jenilee (Matt) Spaniol of Wildwood, MO and Alexa (Mason) Green of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Brynlee and Beckham Spaniol, and Levi, Raegan and Lincoln Green; two sisters, Beth (Ed Hornick) Novotney and Jana (Edmund Scott) Novotney both of Streator; and a brother, Scott (Kelly) Novotney of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; his parents; and a brother, David Novotney.

Michael traveled abroad to Guyana where he met his wife.  He worked for Thatcher’s Glass, LaSalle Lake and Don’s Furniture.  He enjoyed spending time reading, being in the outdoors and loved to fish.

A private graveside service will be held June 2^nd at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
