Michael F. Michaelsen

Michael F. Michaelsen, 75 of Oglesby, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.

Following Michael’s wishes, his body has been donated to science and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator have been entrusted with arrangements.

Michael was born May 3, 1950 in Hinsdale, a son of Fred and Helen (Krauch) Michaelsen. He married Kathleen Baeder on March 18, 1972.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; three daughters, Michelle (Lewis) Norton, Jennifer (Joe) Bucy, and Sara (Brad) Hauger; 4 grandchildren, Timothy Mattox, Amanda and Dalton Owen, and Savannah Bucy; 3 great grandchildren, Jaxon Owen, Callie Owen and Rhett Owen; and a sister, Irene (Scott) Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Shirley Ann Lundbeck.

Michael had served in the National Guard for 6 years and had worked as a carpenter for 40 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
