Matthew D. McMeen

Matthew David McMeen, 39, of Blackstone passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Phillips Cemetery, Rural Streator.

Matthew was born October 7, 1986 in Streator, a son of David Lloyd and Michelle Ann (Frappier) McMeen. He married Shay Anne Smetanko on February 17, 2018. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Aubrey Lee, Hazel Rose, Vivian Grace and Lydia Renee; his father, David McMeen of Ancona; his grandfather, Lloyd “Bud” McMeen of Streator; and his siblings, Mariah McMeen and Jeffrey McMeen.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle McMeen; and grandmother, Sharon Lee McMeen.

Matthew worked out of the Chicago Pipefitters’ Union Local 597.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the education fund for his girls.
