Mary E. Swanson 85 of Punta Gorda Florida , formerly of rural Kinsman, died Monday (Dec. 26, 2011) at Charlotte Regional Hospital , Punta Gorda Fl.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Allen Township Cemetery , Ransom. Mrs. Swanson was born Nov. 19, 1926 in Streator the daughter of Louis and Mary (Porter) Girard. She married Helmar Swanson, June 16, 1945 in Streator. He preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1998. Mary and her husband farmed in the rural Kinsman area before retiring to Florida in 1971. She was of the Lutheran faith and had attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School . She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Babcock, Morris and Beverly Bryant, Mazon, nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and dear friend Felix Marte. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronald, sisters Mabel, Ellen and Edna and brothers Edward Alfred, Louis and Lester and son-in-law, Verne Babcock. Pallbearers will be family members, Todd Babcock, Brett Herzog, Paul Mandrik, Terry Oxendine, Tony and Larry Cryder Jr. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society |
