STREATOR-  Mary Ellen Linn 65 of Streator died Wednesday morning (Feb. 25, 2015) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Christ Episcopal Church, Streator with Father Mark Geisler, officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 PM Sunday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator and from 10:00-11:00 AM Monday at Christ Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery, rural Streator.
Mrs. Linn was born Nov. 3, 1949 in Streator the daughter of Richard E. and Virginia (Kimes) Hanson. She married Glen Linn, May 26, 1990 at Christ Episcopal Church. He survives.
Mary Ellen had been employed at the former Thatcher Glass Co, Streator and later at Ottawa Community Hospital and St. Elizabeth Medical Center, prior to her retirement. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Streator where she served on the Altar Guild and was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star # 301, Streator. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1968.
Mary Ellen was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bingo, loved to make embroidery and was known as a very giving person.
She is survived by her husband Glen, two sisters, Nancy Keith and Becky (Kurt) Barry, both of Streator, two brothers, Richard “Rick” (Susan) Hanson, Streator and Marty (Chris) Hanson, Morton, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive along with Liberty the cat and Lucky and Lucy, the dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Ed Davis, Adam and Zach Hanson, Deive Ramirez, Chad Barry and Josh Campbell.
Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or to the donor’s choice.
