Mary Folken

STREATOR-  Mary Jean Folken 82 of Streator died Wednesday evening (May 20, 2015) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Father Jacob Rose, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Monday at Hagi Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass. Burial will be at a later date in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.
Mrs. Folken was born May 19, 1933 in Streator the daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Vargovcik) Wiggett Sr. She married Raymond Folken, May 23, 1953 in Streator. He preceded her in death September 10, 1993.
Mary Jean had been employed at the Garment Factory, JG Vending and St. Mary’s Hospital all of Streator. She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. She attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School.
She is survived by three daughters, Gayle (Mark) Reynolds, Dianne (Garth) Christie and Lori (Jeffrey) Akin all of Streator, two sons, Scott (Carrie) Folken, Streator and John (Lori) Folken, Mahomet, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one sister Margaret Ann Plichta, Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Gene and Phillip “Bud” Wiggett Jr.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Ryan and Robb Reynolds, Derek Christie, Christopher and Tyler Akin, Lauren Opperman, Emily and Hannah Folken and honorary pallbearers, grandchildren, Caylee and Alivia Folken.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
