Marvin Stevens

Marvin Keith Stevens, 85 of Streator passed away Monday evening (May 3, 2021) at Heritage Health, Streator.

Marvin was born March 26, 1936 in Ransom, a son of Meryl Stevens Weers.  He married Gloria Slattery on October 8, 1955 in Ottawa.  She preceded him in death on January 5, 2015.

He is survived by a daughter, Debra Stevens of Wilmington; three sons, Terry (Marie) Stevens of Ransom, Kelly Stevens and Jeffry (Barb) Stevens both of Streator; 6 grandchildren, Lisa (Toby) Taylor, Keith (Mindy) Stevens, Jenna (Jesse Nelson) Stevens, Samantha Stevens, Molly Stevens, and Shane Stevens; six great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife; and a brother, Donald “Herbie” Stevens.

Marvin was a former member of the Ransom Lions Club and was a member of the Teamsters 722.  He retired from Air Products & Chemicals in LaSalle.

A private family memorial service will be Friday, May 7, 2021 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating.  Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, facial coverings are required, and social distancing standards will be followed.
