Marilyn Jean Wahl, 88 of Streator passed away Thursday January 10th at Heritage Health and Rehab in Streator.

Funeral Services were held with immediate family privately on Saturday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  Interment was in Riverview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was born November 28, 1930 in Hammond, Indiana and later resided in Texas and Streator.  She was the daughter of William and Marguerite (Whitton) Scheffler.  She married Robert “Pete” Wahl on February 17, 1951 at Park Presbyterian Church with Rev. Edgar Smith officiating. She was a church member since 1948 and a past elder.

She is survived by children:  Greg (Keri) Wahl of Streator and Lisa (Rocky) Neumann of Streator and grandchildren:  Brian (Amy Porter) Wahl of Streator, Ashley (Cody) Burroughs of Seatonville, IL, Ryan (Hollie Kolesar) Neumann of Streator and Cory (Meghan) Wahl of Effingham, IL.  She is also survived by great grandchildren:  Kolden Neumann, Rocky Neumann and Avery Wahl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and infant twin grandsons.

Marilyn attended and graduated from Grant School and Streator Township High School Class of 1947.

She was previously employed for 20 years at Hedglin & Savage Insurance.  She was owner and operator of Northgate Trailer Park in 1973.

She enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She always attended their many school activities and all sporting events.  She liked reading and previously belonged to both Twin creeks Women’s Golf group and Anderson Fields.  She was a past member and President of Star of Hope Circle of Kings Daughters.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donors choice.
