Maria Lopez

Maria Lourdes “LuLu” Lopez, 68, of Streator, IL passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 surrounded by her family at home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 11, 2016 at Hagi Funeral Home in Streator with Rev. Mario Macias officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Streator. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Maria was born August 4, 1947 in Chihuahua Mexico the daughter of Jesus and Alicia Sias Macias. She married Carlos Lopez Sr. on March 22, 1979 in Pontiac, IL. He survives along with her mother Alicia Macias of El Paso, TX; two sons Alfonso (Stephanie) Lopez of Joliet and Carlos Lopez Jr. of Clarendon Hills; two grandchildren Natalie Mariah and Clay Apolinar Lopez.; two brothers Mario Macias of Streator and Jesus Macias of El Paso, TX; one sister Alicia Macias of El Paso, TX.
She was preceded in death by her father Jesus Macias and a sister Alejandra Alvarez.
Maria was a member of Central Church of Christ in Streator. She worked as a bus monitor for First Student now Illinois Central School Bus Company for 20 years. She was a loving esposa, ma, and abuela who had endless love for children especially for Natalie, Clay, Julio Ceasar, Marcos, Gabi, and Emmaly. She was recognized as a mother to many especially to Julio, Gabe, Dan, Mario, Manny, and Josh. And a friend who listened and cared for many especially Zuli and Paquita. Maria demonstrated a perfect example of love everyday of her life.
