Louis Retoff

Louis M. Retoff, 71, of Streator passed away at 9:43 PM Wednesday (October 24, 2018) at Unity Point Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon Tuesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.

There will be no funeral services.  Cremation rites will accorded following the visitation.

He was born March 21, 1947 in Streator to Louis G. & Margaret L. (Gayon) Retoff.  He married the former Sandy Hillyer On October 29, 1994.  She survives.

He is survived by his wife; his children:  Dana Retoff of Streator and Stephen Retoff of Streator; 2 grandchildren:  Justin Bertiaux and Finley Grace Retoff-Frankel; stepchildren:  Michelle Pottinger of Minonk, Angela (Rob) Carpenter of Benton, IL; stepgrandchildren:  Autumn Thomas, Miranda, Faith, Cody and Jacob Carpenter; numerous step great grandchildren; sisters:  Karen Lynn (Joseph) Grygiel of Plainfield, IL, Diane (Dave) Schmitz of Streator and Marietta (Larry) Jerde of Streator and a brother, Albert (Beth) Retoff of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Beth in infancy and a brother Ronald in infancy.

Louis graduated from Streator Township High School and owned and operated for many years Retoff’s Tavern and then retired from Transco.

He was a member of the Streator Eagles Aerie #645, the Illinois Liquor Association, formerly of member of St. Stephen’s Church and now a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.  He also formerly belonged to Monsignor George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council 790.

He loved to fish and do yardwork.
