Long Point- LeRoy H. Albertson 87 of Long Point died Friday morning (Nov. 15, 2013) at the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Michael Sculley, officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial with flag folding rites will be in Long Point Cemetery.
Mr. Albertson was born April 25, 1926 in Livingston County, the son of Dewey and Clara (Brill) Albertson. He married Leatha Raridon, Sept. 4, 1946 in Long Point. She preceded him in death July 29, 2010.
LeRoy was self-employed as an auto mechanic and had a recreational vehicle business in Long Point for many years. He was a member of the Long Point American Legion and had been a Ham radio operator with the call sign WA9VCT. He attended Gridley and Graymont rural schools. LeRoy served in the US Army in the Philippines.
He is survived by two sisters, Betty (Raymond) Talty, Ransom, Mary Ann Hall, Pontiac, and one brother, Marlin (Romelle) Albertson, Graymont, one sister-in-law, Marcia Albertson Carroll, Pontiac, several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Darrell.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Long Point American Legion or to the donor’s choice.
