Laverna Roach

Laverna M. Roach, 88, of Streator passed away at 3:05 AM Monday (January 16, 2017) at Heritage Health in Streator.

A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Friday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

She was born on June 29, 1928 in Chicago to Jason & Verna (Hill) McClellan.  She married Maurice Roach on February 17, 1946 in Tallula, IL.  He preceded her in death on October 22, 1997.

She is survived by a sister, Catherine Mondy of Streator, many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Shirley McClellan of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a daughter in infancy, Sharon Roach; 2 brothers:  Jason McClellan and Richard Bright and 3 sisters:  Marcie Dodge, Della Rhodes and Laurie Mondy.

She attended Tallula Schools and graduated from Tallula High School in 1946.

She had worked at The Lipton Tea Company in Streator.

Laverna liked to square dance, loved cardinals, camping and enjoyed picnics.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
