Larry J. Brunner

Larry Jay Brunner, 78 of Streator passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his home.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Rodney Kreier officiating.  Following Larry’s wishes, cremation will take place and his ashes will be scattered at his favorite hunting spots and a marker will be erected in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana in the family lot by his parents and sister..

Larry was born August 19, 1945 in Ottawa, a son of Anthony John and Esther (Johnson) Brunner. 

He is survived by a daughter, Karen Berry of Rantoul; two sons, Anthony John Brunner of Urbana and Jay (Theresa Schultz) Rohl of Sheridan; two grandchildren, (Ashley Brunner and Tyler Rohl; a brother, Kenneth (Karen) Brunner of Paris; and a sister, Kathy (Butch) Dalton of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Peggy Yeazel.

Larry was a graduate of Urbana High School.  He worked as a Union Electrician out of Local 601 for over 42 years.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Eagles Club and had been a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Urbana.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his early years, trapping.
