Joseph L. “Joe” Savage 62 of Orland Park, formerly of Streator died in his sleep at his home in Orland Park , Monday morning (Jan. 2, 2012).
Private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael the Archangel Church , Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. There was no visitation. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Streator. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Savage was born Nov. 8, 1949 in Streator the son of Joseph A. and Betty J. (Creamean) Savage. Joe attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School class of 1967; he then received his Bachelors’ Degree from Illinois State University and then his Masters Degree from Governors’ State University . He is survived by his parents, Joseph A. and Betty J. Savage, maternal grand mother, Ann Creamean, one sister, Kathy (Dick) Marx, all of Streator, one brother, Randy (Shelly) Savage, Marseilles , two nephews, Chris (Lisa) Marx, Normal and Curt Marx, St. Paul MN , also surviving is a close friend, Greg Fleck, Orland Park . He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Pete Creamean and paternal grandparents, Carl and Catherine Savage. Memorials may be made to American Liver Foundation or to Streator Unlimited. |
