Joan Pellegrini

Joan Pellegrini, 77, of Streator passed away at 7:05 AM Wednesday (September 5, 2018) at O.S.F. St. Joseph’s John Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon Tuesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  A Time of Remembrance will be held at Noon.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

She was born on December 1, 1940 in Streator to Homer & Cecilia (Kettman) Beavers.  She married Jerry R. Pellegrini on March 16, 1969 in Streator.  He preceded her in death on May 15, 2016.

She is survived by her children:  Bonnie (David) Bradley of Streator and Tim (Ashley Lawrence) Pellegrini of Champaign; grandchildren:  Tom (Sara) Drysdale, Taylor (Josh) Houch Bradley, Elizabeth Bradley and Ally and Sophie Pellegrini; and a brother, John Beavers of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers:  James & Edward Beavers; a sister, Georgia Bakalar and sisters-in-law:  Barb, Sandy and Joann Beavers.

She graduated from Woodland High School and the Graham School of Nursing.

She had worked at Owen’s-Illinois Glass and then Respiratory Therapy and Home Health at St. Mary’s Hospital.  She also served as a L.P.N. in Canton and Streator at various nursing homes and hospitals.

She had lived in Canton for 16 years and was a former member of the Canton Country Club.  She and her husband returned to Streator in 1995.  She loved to go to the Riverboat.  Joan was kind and caring.  She was always there for friends and family whenever they needed her.  Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.  She loved Christmas Eve as she made this holiday tradition very special for her family.  She will be dearly missed by all.
