James D. Flynn

James D. Flynn, 76 of Rutland passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Heritage Health in Minonk.

James was born December 12, 1946 in Streator, a son of Gilbert B. and Bernice E. Flynn.  He married Kathryn S. Middleton of Rutland on August 30, 1974.

He graduated from Minonk Dana Rutland High School in1964 and attended college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.  He later worked at the California Division of Forestry.  He was last employed as a truck driver for Air Products Supply.

James is survived by his wife, Kathryn S. Flynn of Rutland; two children, Daniel Flynn of Rutland, and Patricia Flynn of Starke, FL; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Flynn and Natalie Flynn of Wenona, and Jackson Flynn of Starke, FL.  Also surviving are a cousin, Francis B. Flynn, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gilbert Jr..

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a private graveside service will be held in Reilly Cemetery in Rural Rutland.  Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
