James Lewis Dietman

Jim “Diddy” Dietman, 74, of Streator, IL passed at his home on February 14, 2026 after a long illness.

Jim was born on January 5th, 1952 to Frank and Mabel (Beck) Dietman. He lived life to the fullest in his youth. He loved riding horses and fishing. He graduated with the Class of ’70 from Streator High School and enjoyed every bit of the 70s! He loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears, classic rock music, playing pool, sunbathing, and watching western movies. Known for his wit and charm, he was always making people laugh and fall in love with him. He learned how to paint from his dad and ultimately retired from the Painter’s District Council #30.

He is survived by his children Kate (Michael) Jaegle of Grand Ridge, IL, Travis Dietman of LaSalle, IL, Luke Dietman of LaSalle, IL, Ben (Danielle) Swift of Seneca, IL, Clint Redd of Streator, IL, and Wendi Gray of Grand Ridge, IL. He also is survived by his many grandchildren: Mason, Kenzie, and Hunter Jaegle, Maddox Harden, Lennox Dietman, Jett, Lana, and Sophia Swift, Kassidy, Kelsie, and Clint Redd, Jr, Cole Rafferty, Sarah Kaltreider, and Matthew Anderson.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved brother Richard Dietman, parents Frank and Mabel, and grand-daughter Juliet Rose Swift.

Memorial services will be held privately. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator has been entrusted with arrangements.
