Honora Gauthier

STREATOR-  Honora B. Gauthier 97 of Streator died Wednesday morning (March 25, 2015) at Heritage Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.
Mrs. Gauthier was born December 17, 1917 in New Orleans LA, the daughter of Patrick and Jeanne (Duroux) Banville. She married Charles “Charlie” Richoz in 1942 Gulfport MS, he preceded her in death in 1979. She married Roland Gauthier in 1983, he preceded her in death in 1996.
Honora had been employed for 22 years at Thatcher Glass Co. prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. She attended St. Joseph’s Academy in Bay St. Louis LA. During WWII she sang with the USO.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlene (DeeDee) Samek, Streator, one son, Charles (Sandra) Richoz, Sherman IL, six grandchildren, Dawn Sylvester and Arthur Richoz, both of Edgewater MD, Charles “Cougar” Richoz, Baroda MI, Victor (Randa) Samek, Tonica, Rebecca Samek, Streator and Jeanette Samek, Danville, eight great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Jeanne Aiena and a brother, Peter Banville.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
