Helen Kruger

Helen M. Fiedler-Kruger, 93, of Streator passed away at 2:20 PM Friday (December 15, 2017) at Heritage Health in Streator.

A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Tuesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Rev. John Gutz will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Ransom.

Pallbearers will be Gary, Joe, Don and James Fiedler and Robert and David Lee.

She was born on December 15, 1924 in Ransom to Howard & Senora (Sorenson) Lee.  She married John Fiedler on October 19, 1941.  He preceded her in death in 1972.  She then married James Kruger in 1987.  He preceded her in death on December 14, 2003.

She is survived by sons:  Jack (Nancy) Fiedler of Streator and Donald (Nancy) Fiedler of Dwight; 4 grandchildren:  Gary, Joe and Don (Stef) Fiedler and Sandra (Mark) Strahonski; 9 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Mary Jo Lee of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and brothers:  Orville, Oscar, Harold and Marvin Lee and a brother in infancy, Lester Lee.

She attended Groman School in rural Ransom and was a housewife.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Golden Emblem Club of Owen’s-Illinois, the Mary Martha Society, was past President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ransom, member of G.M.P. Auxiliary, and the 8 & 40 Veterans Organization of LaSalle County.

Memorials may be directed to her church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
