Gwendolyn “Janice” Ehrbright, 91, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2026, at 6:38 am at St James Hospital, Pontiac, IL.
Janice was known for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and selfless love for her family. She lived simply, loved generously, and faithfully walked with the Lord. Her life reflected the love of Jesus in quiet, everyday ways, and her greatest desire was that others would come to know Him.
Born on October 26, 1934, in Matthews, Missouri, to Fred and Adelyn (Depro) Gurley, Janice was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Flint Northern High School and later attended Mott Community College.
Janice married Richard Ehrbright on September 18, 1954, and together they raised four children:
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lisa (Paul) Bauer, Tim (Darla) Ehrbright, and Lesley (Brian) King: her cherished nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, her siblings, Helen Carpenter, Ruth (Larry) Textor, and Greg (Vonnie) Gurley; along with many nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Toby (Sherry) Ehrbright, her parents, Fred & Adelyn Gurley- Campbell, her sister, Janet (Martin) Lueker; and her nephew, David Lueker.
Janice was a faithful member of Living Word Church in Roberts, Il.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse Ministries and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3pm at the First Baptist Church in Fairbury, Illinois.
Janice taught us that life’s greatest treasures are never things…they’re people.
