Glenn Norman Held, 92, of Ransom, passed away at 4:47 AM Saturday (April 27, 2019) at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, IL.

A visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM Saturday May 18, 2019 at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

Private family burial will be in Allen Township Cemetery in Ransom with full military rites by the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

He was born December 18, 1926 in Streator IL to Benjamin C. & Esther (Geheber) Held.  He married the former Elizabeth Bunn on January 25, 1948 in Ransom, IL.

He is survived by his children:  Glenda Held Merrill and Jody Held (Gregg) Rinker both of Galesburg, Larry (Mykel) Held of Baltimore, MD, Bobby (Tabby) Held of Pontiac; grandchildren:  Melissa (Michael) Treaster, Mindy Hooper, Molly Sippio, Mandy Rinker, Brian Rinker, Lela Held Walker, Robby Held, Maddie Held and Kyleigh Held; great grandchildren:  Samantha, Dani and Kori Treaster, Mia & Moise Hooper, Brandi Pollett, Kevron, Quincy Sippio and Haley and Hayden Walker; two great grandchildren:  Shia Link and Galaluna; a brother, Don Held and a sister Joyce Held Riss.

His wife, parents and a great granddaughter, Hannah Sippio preceded him in death.

Glenn served in the United States Army and farmed in the Ransom area his entire life.

Memorials may be directed to the Ransom American Legion Post 674 or the Allen Township Fire Department and Ambulance Service or donor’s choice.
