Gerald Moore

Gerald “Jerry” L. Moore, 62, of Streator, passed away at 2:58 AM Thursday (September 12, 2019) at his residence surrounded by his family and loved ones.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon Tuesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.  Pastor Walter Kowalski will officiate.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be his sons:  Jason & Joshua Moore, son-in-law:  David Arndt; grandsons: Zack and Blayze Arndt and son-in-law:  Ben Kowalski.

He was born on July 14, 1957 in Streator to Wilmer & Betty (Jason) Moore.  He married the former Kathleen Demko on April 27, 1982 in Pontiac.  She survives.

He is also survived by his children:  Jennifer Horton of Streator, Susan (David) Arndt of Dana, Jason (Maria) Moore of Ottawa, Joshua Moore of Streator, Sarah Rister of Jacksonville, FL and Sheri (Ben) Kowalski of Wilmington; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 sisters:  Joyce (Rick) Ford of Streator and Evelyn Moore; his stepfather, Charles Robertson of Streator and his mother-in-law:  Judy Demko of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers:  Richard, Charles & Kenneth Moore and his father-in-law:  Louis Demko.

Jerry attended Streator Township High School worked for various companies until he became disabled.

He was an avid sports fan, especially the Bears and the Cubs.  He loved to play Euchre and enjoyed watching games with his sons and grandsons.  He was a very good Christian man who loved his family dearly and loved telling them stories.
