George E. Tibbles

George E. Tibbles, 82, of Streator passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.

His funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Streator, with Rev. John Gutz officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service 11:00 AM Friday at the Church.

George was born October 22, 1941 in Streator, the son of George L. and Anne (Mehock) Tibbles.

He is survived by a niece, Tracy (Brian) Roth of Rockwall, TX; a great niece, Brittany (Michael) Grose of Royse City, TX; and a great great nephew, Maxwell Grose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anne; and a sister, Joyce Redman.

George was born and raised in Streator. He attended the local schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1960. 

George was a member and past Elder of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He had worked at Owens Illinois Glass Co for 41 years as a machine operator in the “hot end”.
