George McGurk

George A. McGurk 94 of Streator died Friday morning (Jan. 20, 2012) at Heritage Heath, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church , Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial with full military rites, conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McGurk was born May 30, 1917 in Harrisburg IL , the son of James and Anna (Dudak) McGurk.
George had been employed in the Agriculture Chemical Industry, in the Kansas City area prior to his retirement. He was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church , Streator. George served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He attended St. Mary’s grade school and Streator High School .
He is survived by care givers, Mary Ann Chismarick and Frank “Tip” Jurcak, Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Rose and Elsie and brothers Laurence, Tom, Ed and Jim McGurk.
