George Hyduk

George L. Hyduk, 87, of Streator passed away at 12:46 PM Thursday (March 2, 2017) at his residence.

Private services were held on Saturday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.  Rev. John Gutz of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiated.

Interment was in Riverview Cemetery.

He was born on June 22, 1929 in Streator to George & Elizabeth (Plesko) Hyduk.  He married the former Patricia Waytenick on July 29, 1953 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  She survives.

He is also survived by a son:  George Hyduk of Downers Grove; 2 daughters:  Sandra (Rev. John Kiefer) Hyduk-Kierfer of Bonfield, IL and Karen (Tim) Perry of Streator; 3 grandchildren:  Hannah & Seth Kiefer and Abigail Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart.

He had worked at Anthony Manufacturing and retired from Knox Estates.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
