Gary Liptak

STREATOR- Gary L. Liptak 62 of Streator died Thursday morning (Dec. 18, 2014) at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Monday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 PM Sunday at Hagi Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services, burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Liptak was born Jan. 21, 1952 in Kankakee, the son of Donald and Mary (Decker) Liptak.
Gary had been employed at as a union carpenter. He was a member of the carpenters union and an avid card player, hunter and fisherman. He was a history buff and enjoyed family genealogy.  He attended St. Stephen’s Grade School, and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1970 and also attended Southern Illinois University.
He is survived by his father Don, one brother, James (Ralene) Liptak, Crandall, Texas, a sister-in-law, Leann Liptak, Streator along with nieces, Cory (David) Kreitzer, Mandy Liptak and Miranda (Clay) Coker and nephew Kyle Liptak and great nieces, Maddy and Charlotte Kreitzer, Aisley Liptak, Ava and Brynlee Coker and great nephew Evan Kreitzer.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother Rick Liptak.
