Fred Reed

Fred J. Reed, 65, of Streator passed away at 10:09 PM Wednesday (September 20, 2017) at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday (September 30, 2017) at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday (September 30, 2017) at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be in Moon Point Cemetery.

He was born March 17, 1952 in Streator to Walter & Evelyn (Biros) Reed.

He is survived by a sister, Deena Reed of Streator; brothers, Gary (Sandra) Reed of Manville and Terry (Tina) Reed of Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He graduated from Woodland High School and then from Illinois State University with a degree in education.

He was a school teacher in McHenry Illinois having taught social studies, English and History.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.  He was a collector of Comic Books, Stamps, Star Wars and Marx figures.  He enjoyed golfing in his younger years.
