Eva Wilkerson

Eva Elaine Wilkerson, 80, of Pontiac, passed away at 9:31 PM Sunday (October 29, 2017) at O.S.F. St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL

A visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon on Friday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home in Streator.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Friday at the funeral home.  Rev. David Heath of River of Life in Meadows will officiate.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Inurnment will be in Phillips Cemetery in rural Streator.

She was born on October 25, 1937 in Streator to Clarence & Essie (Cook) Minick.  She married Gerald “Jerry” Wilkerson on July 14, 1955 in Streator.  He preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by 4 sons:  William Wilkerson of Chenoa, Gerald (Leah) Wilkerson Jr., of Pontiac, Bobby “Owen” Wilkerson of Pontiac and Lowell R. (Sue) Wilkerson of Pontiac; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; a half brother, Arnold Johnson of Arkansas and a brother-in-law, Claude Wilkerson of Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one granddaughter, one grandson and 2 half brothers:  Donnie & Ronnie Johnson.

She graduated from Tonica Grade School and Streator Township High School.

She retired from Owen’s-Illinois Glass as a carton maker after 37 ½ years.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Women’s Auxilliary in Pontiac and Streator.

She loved to crochet and plant flowers.

She resided in Pontiac since 1975 having lived in Streator prior to that.
