Elsie Sereg

Elsie M. Sereg, 97, of Streator passed away at 12:41 PM Sunday (January 1, 2017) at Heritage Health in Streator.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church.  Rev. Jacob Rose will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  The Hagi & Baker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born August 14, 1919 in Kangley to Frank & Caroline (Petrotte) O’Herron.  She married Nicholas Sereg Sr. on November 17, 1976.  He survives.

She is also survived by a stepson, Nicholas Sereg Jr and one nephew, Richard O’Herron of Perrinton, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard O’Herron.

She graduated from Streator Township High School and had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Dwight Ackerman.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and the Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 Auxiliary.  She formerly belonged to the Streator Matrons.

Elsie loved to travel.
